The Parchment Craft Guild Committee

The Guild’s affairs are administered by a committee elected by the members through a postal vote notified in the Newsletter, or in person at the AGM. The current elected Committee members are:

Mary joined the Guild in 2006. She is a registered PCA, Pergamano and AIPT Level 3 tutor and enjoys teaching and designing. Mary would welcome input from any member for inclusion in the newsletters. Information from tutors, planned exhibitions, etc., and says: "Remember, it is YOUR newsletter, so let's hear more from you."

Janet was born and bred on the Isle of Wight and has lived and worked there all of her life. She has always loved to craft right from a young age. She initially became interested in parchment craft in 2004 after seeing examples in a craft shop and demonstrations on the craft channel on TV.  She discovered that Alison Yeates held regular classes on the IOW, went along, and has been hooked ever since. She also goes to Alison’s annual parchment weekends in Bournemouth and has visited all the exhibitions in Bristol.

In 2006 Sue was introduced to parchment craft and became hooked. She now teaches the craft and enjoys her weekly classes in St Austell, Cornwall, near to where she lives. Sue enjoys the exhibitions and workshops and the many friendships made since finding this beautiful craft.

Marcia discovered parchment craft in 2003 and it was love at first sight. She is a registered PCA, Pergamano and AIPT Level 3 tutor and enjoys all aspects of the craft but is particularly fond of traditional white work and lacework. Marcia teaches in the Swansea area.

Whitework

As advised in the December newsletter, exam papers are no longer available for purchase from either Kingfisher Crafts or the Guild Registrar. The final submission date for members already holding exam papers is Monday, 4 September 2017.

The Guild Techniques Book has proved to be very popular and a great help to members taking their exams. It is also a great aid to perfecting your techniques even if you are not taking the exams. There are still copies available. Please contact Kingfisher Crafts if you would like to order a copy.
