Area Coordinator for the North East
lynselby@gmail.com

Lyn and her husband Phil have two adult children, Kate and John, who are both at university. Lyn and Phil are both retired and able to pursue their hobbies of parchment (Lyn), rugby, walking and travel.

Lyn has been addicted to parchment since she bought her son a children's beginners kit some 15 years ago. She was the first Regional Coordinator many years ago. Several people have fulfilled the role very successfully over the years and now Lyn is happy to promote the craft and the Guild again.

Please contact her, preferably by email, if you have any queries which you think she may be able to help you with.

Rosie Buik
Area Coordinator for Scotland
rosiebuik@btinternet.com

Rosie has been been doing parchment craft for 12 years and works in two craft shops, one in Letham, Angus and the other in Perth. She enjoys being a tutor and the varied travelling to parchment craft event meetings with the many friends throughout the world. Rosie is married with two children and her husband gives her a lot of support and travels with her to most events. She is looking forward to doing more work to promote the craft  in Scotland.

Christine Cade
Area Coordinator for the South

christine.cade1@btinternet.com

Christine was a primary teacher for over 30 years and when she retired she had time to indulge in some new hobbies. She became firstly a card maker and then began to learn to paint in watercolours. She discovered Parchment Craft seven years ago and soon found it was the perfect mix of craft and art.

Christine became a Guild member after visiting a Parchment Exhibition and, being reluctant to teach again so soon after retirement, decided to take the Guild Exams. She passed her Affiliate exam with merit and was encouraged to go on to the Associate level. She passed that in 2010 and is now working on the Graduate level.

She says, I enjoy the challenge of designing and encouraging others to develop their skills. I am still learning but now feel ready to help others. I look forward to meeting other Guild members and would love to hear from any other Southern members.

Area Coordinator for the South East

After being introduced to Parchment Craft by my daughter, who was then working in a craft shop, I was hooked! I joined the Guild and passed the Affiliate exam in 2006, followed by the Associate in 2007 when I also became a registered PCA tutor. I passed the Graduate exam in 2008 and am currently striving to achieve a pass at Fellowship level. I enjoy designing, but my first love is teaching others our wonderful craft. I look forward to making contact with fellow parchers in the area and will be happy to always offer whatever help and support I can.

Celia Preston, Area Coordinator for the South West
Celia Preston
Area Coordinator for the South West
c.preston08@btinternet.com

Celia served as an instructor and commissioned officer with the TA (Cadets) for 24 years and as a SW regional officer for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. In 1997 she became a Pergamano teacher and also a PCA tutor since 2002. During her time with the Guild she has passed Affiliate and Associate level exams with merit.

Twice a year Celia organises Guild days in Taunton. Normally 25+ ladies attend a fun day with demonstrations and a buffet lunch.

Workshops are held once a month on a Saturday (full day) and two Tuesday afternoons a month. New and beginner ladies are always welcome.

Sandra Berrigan
Area Coordinator for South Wales
sber654@aol.com

Sandra is married with four children and eight grandchildren and lives in Pembrokeshire. She was introduced to parchment craft a number of years ago while attending a card-making class where parchment was used more as an embellishment. She later attended a craft day in Carmarthen where parchment craft was demonstrated and promoted and became hooked. She decided to take the hobby seriously, attended classes and later became a Pergamano tutor.

Sandra joined the Guild in 2011. She thoroughly believes in its aims and is committed to the promotion of membership to a wider audience. To this end, she looks forward to hearing from and contacting as many Welsh members as possible with a view to setting up a first meeting. Sandra is open to any suggestions, concerns or questions. She recognises that distance can be a problem due to the geographical spread in Wales and says that get-togethers by email or telephone are always an option.

Chiara Petro, Area Coordinator for the United States
Chiara Petro
Area Coordinator for the United States
chiara@parchmentcraftguild.co.uk

Chiara is married and has three boys and a multitude of animals that share her home. She became fascinated with parchment crafting in the mid-to-late 1990's, when she first saw it demonstrated on a popular craft show in the US. She ordered a starter kit, found a couple of books and an e-list group and kept practising, trying to improve her techniques. Life then threw Chiara some lemons, and all her parchment had to be put away for about five years.

During her five years absence from the craft, Chiara has found a lot of changes; new techniques have been developed and many more tools and grids are available on the market. She seriously felt like a “newbie” all over again. However, email lists/yahoo groups, forums, lessons via the internet and help from some of the most wonderful people have all helped her tremendously over the past 3-4 years.

Chiara says that one of the things that attracted her to this craft in the first place is its delicacy and versatility. Now that she has a better working knowledge of parchment craft, she is able to appreciate her own work much more. She is currently working on her Graduates exam and hopes to work towards a tutors certificate. She continues to refine what she has learned and also to learn more of this beautiful art. Most of all, Chiara would like to give back to the community that gave so much to her.
